Personal Development Revolution – Dr. Matt Part 1

You may be wondering what all of the fuss is about. Why do I keep going on and on about Dr. Matt?

Here is the story.

Once upon a time… about four months ago in San Diego at a hypnosis training, the class broke to pair up with partners for an exercise on the very first day of the course. I saw a bearded man who looked about my age, maybe a few years younger who didn’t have a partner so we sat across from each other and began.

He had an accent but spoke great English. Within a few moments we found ourselves realizing we had a lot in common and we nearly forgot about the exercise and just talked.

His clarity of thought and the way he could articulate his ideas both challenged me and stimulated new ideas and new understandings in my mind. These are the kind of conversations I live for and I wanted more.

“Who are you and what do you do?” I finally said.

“I’m a trainer, coach, and author in Europe.”

When I attend a NLP or hypnosis training I’m used to being one of the most highly skilled in the room aside from the teacher. Sometimes people even recognize me from my Youtube channel. At the very least I stand out.

But 15 minutes after meeting Mateusz Grzesiak, a.k.a. Dr. Matt, I felt like I was about to get schooled. At that moment I had no idea how exactly true that would be.

“I’m a NLP teacher,” I said.

After comparing notes on NLP and hypnosis and NLP trainings and teachers we had trained with his resume humbled me. I was outgunned. Instead of wanting to compete with him though, I suddenly found myself wanting to learn from him.

“NLP though is not really what I do,” he said.

Now I was confused and he could see this in my furrowed brow. He smiled.

“I’ve created something called Interdisciplinary Psychology.” He said. “I also call it Mixed Mental Arts.”
